OzHarvest, Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, collects quality excess food and delivers it directly to more than 1300 charities, supporting people in need across the country. Education is crucial to our organisation to help enable positive change in the community. OzHarvest’s new primary curriculum aligned education program FEAST (Food, Education and Sustainability Training) incorporates creative classroom cooking with nutritional knowledge and food waste prevention to empower students to be change makers in their community for the sustainability of the planet. The presentation will explore the successes and challenges involved in developing & implementing a classroom based sustainability initiative.
