Col turned 70 last December (2018).
He started his work career as an apprentice Fitter & Turner with A.C.I. (the
glassworks at Waterloo) in 1965.
He finished his career as a Planner with Telstra, taking redundancy in 2003 after 30 years service.
Since retiring, Col has been a community volunteer with Miranda District Neighbour
Aid assisting elderly and disabled clients to remain in their homes.
Since retiring, Col has been working to raise awareness of climate change and destruction by the Coal and Coal Seam Gas industries.
Col has been arrested 8 times on climate related actions. His first arrest stopping a
coal train (with 22 others) at Newcastle Port in 2010. His most recent arrest (just days before our last Federal Election) was on the Sydney Harbour Bridge while taking action with Greenpeace.
Currently, he is campaigning against SANTOS Coal Seam Gas expansion at Narrabri and
working to Stop Adani.
Col is an associate Knitting Nanna with no clue how to knit.
