Sarah-Jo Lobwein

Sarah-Jo Lobwein is marine scientist, science communicator, volunteer, teacher and a passionate conservation educator focussed on reducing plastic consumption and pollution. She has globally experienced firsthand the beauty and pressure fragile marine and coastal environments face, and believes education is essential for attitude and behaviour change. Growing up in the waters of the Sutherland Shire, she is the Founder of Ocean Tidings, and the Australian local  non-profits Plastic Free Sutherland Shire and SO Shire, through which she promotes and advises initiatives to increase the sustainable practices of businesses, schools and individuals in their journey in waste and pollution reduction, focusing on ocean positive and marine debris #swapforthesea solutions through the awareness of alternatives or ‘simple swaps’ to single use disposable plastic consumption in our everyday lives to stop the seas drowning in plastic.
